Main Page
From Lonely Planet Developer Wiki
Lonely Planet Developer Platform
There are currently two main parts to the Developer Platform:
The Groups Platform is an Open Social container that let's you create gadgets to run on Groups pages.
The Content API lets you access our database of Places and reviewed Points of Interest (POIs) throughout the world.
The two components work together so your Groups gadgets and applications can be enabled with Lonely Planet POI content.
These Wiki pages are the place to come to find out how to develop applications, and to share your tips with other developers. Everyone is welcome to contribute. We only ask that you play nice and respect the contributions of others. If you need info on how to use the Wiki check out the Wiki User's Guide here. We have had a bit of spam on the top level pages, but the detail pages should be open to edit for registered wiki users.
Lonely Planet Explore API
The Explore API was an earlier version of the Content API which has now been shut down.
In its place Lonely Planet has released the Content API which is designed to work in conjunction with the Lonely Planet Groups platform.
